I meant to post this on Sunday, but somehow life got in the way. By the way, how was your weekend? (I feel like talking about mine so I'm going to pose a rhetorical question first.) I felt so off all last week as I kept getting the days mixed up and my husband was out of town for half of the week and normally I'm all like " SEWING ALL NIGHT! Woooo!! ", but I just wasn't feeling it. Instead I was mopey and sad that he was gone and my cat ignored me most of the nights (is that not the saddest thing you've read all day??) This is how I felt all last week.......mehhhhhhhh...... But the weekend made up for it. We celebrated our SIXTH (!!) wedding anniversary at Animal , which we first went to three or four years ago, I think for another anniversary dinner. Then two nights later, on Monday, we went out for sushi at Sugarfish , which in my opinion is the best value for the quality you get. And now it's already Wednesday evening! Where did the week go? ...

Sooooooooo....this happened on my current "vintage" make: I was *THIS* close to finishing a #VintagePledge  sewing project, but progress came to a screeching halt when I basted on the bow and discovered I looked like I was auditioning for the circus. Seriously, my bow looks NOTHING like the one on the envelope. The fabric is a voile and I was so hesitant to interface the bow, as is instructed in the pattern. But I found an "ultra lightweight interfacing" made by Pellon that I had in my stash. It felt very lightweight with a good amount of drape so I went ahead and fused that bitch onto my beautiful voile, knowing full well that I didn't have enough leftover fabric to redo it if it turned out shitty. Well, it turned out shitty and now I'm stuck doing this: yep, I'm scraping the interfacing off the bow ever so delicately. I finished a Sewaholic Cambie Dress months ago (I think mid-2013, maybe June or July) and have never worn it with the exception of fittings and for this blog. I immediately put it in the closet after making it because everything felt so anticlimactic when I finished it. I had some design issues with this dress, which is why I'm so underwhelmed with it, but none of the issues are attributable to the pattern. The pattern is fantastic, I'll get to it in a minute. My first issue is that I bought a very see-through voile from Hawthorne Threads (by the way, totally love that shop!). I loved the print when I saw it online and was so excited to buy it, but then I received it in the mail and was so disappointed with how thin it was (I guess that's voile for you). It also doesn't help that the fabric is basically white....not sure why I didn't think about that before purchasing it.
